Roaming Computing System (Windows Edition) - packages.xml Changelog
Version 1.4.4 - RCS 3.3 Update 2
- Thunderbird - revision 12 - 2.0.0.17 → 2.0.0.18
- Firefox - revision 10 - 3.0.3 → 3.0.4
Version 1.4.3 - RCS 3.3 Update 1
- Thunderbird - revision 11 - 2.0.0.16 → 2.0.0.17
- Firefox - revision 9 - 3.0.1 → 3.0.3
- ultravnc - revision 4 - when loading ultravnc-installer-settings.inf silent install options the directory was wrong and so it never pulled in installer config and program config. To fix an existing installation you can remove its registry settings (otherwise a reinstall doesn't pull in the config), uninstall the programs and restart. (additionally ultravnc-installer-settings.inf - 'PropertiesFiles' used 'ultravnc-settings.reg' when should have used 'ultravnc-program-settings.reg')
Version 1.4.2 - RCS 3.3
- 12/9/8 - lightning - revision 5 - 'upgrade' was broken because of bad check on missing file; 'install' was broken, we don't know why; 'remove' was (intentionally) missing because we didn't know how to do it reliably. We've now fixed 'install'; improved 'install' and 'upgrade' by not leaving in files from previous version that may have been removed in a new version; added a 'remove'; 'upgrade' was broken in that it was preventing lightning from appearing in Thunderbird, we don't know why, but it's now fixed; and an additional enhancement in copying the whole Lightning directory rather than *.* is that it uses less COMMAND.COM environment memory(?). Requires lightning's .xpi file be extracted to {e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} directory.
Version 1.4.1
- 4/9/8 - filezilla - revision 9 - 3.1.1 → 3.1.2 (adds support for turning off update notifications per-machine; correspondingly supported in TWEAK 0.9.1)
Version 1.4
- 29/8/8 - added ccleaner
- 29/8/8 - removed unused pagedefrag (pagedfrg.exe -o -t 1)
- 28/8/8 - pidgin - revision 7 - 2.4.1 → 2.5.0
- 28/8/8 - gimp - revision 9 - 2.4.6 → 2.4.7
- 13/8/8 - lightning - mistakenly had 0.7 not 0.8 in installer filename
- 12/8/8 - ultravnc - revision 3 - bumped revision to force an install. The revision may not have been updated previously by mistake.
- 12/8/8 - f-prot - Removed F-Prot's 'upgrade' because of known issue where by F-Prot upgrade fails, but it doesn't matter because it upgrades itself, it does actually matter because WPKG will try to reinstall F-Prot on each startup.
- 12/8/8 - adobe-reader - revision 7 - 'upgrade' didn't include additional install of AcrobatReaderUpd812_SU1_all.msi, 'install' was OK
- 12/8/8 - kompozer - Replaced non-functioning 'cmd /c "%SOFTWARE%\kompozer\kompozer.bat"' with 'cmd /c "xcopy /e /y /q %SOFTWARE%\kompozer\0710 "%PROGRAMFILES%\KompoZer""'
- 10/8/8 - filezilla - revision 8 - 3.1.0.1 → 3.1.1
- 6/8/8 - notepad++ - revision 11 - 5.02 → 5.03
- 6/8/8 - winscp - revision 5 - 4.15 → 4.16
- 30/7/8 - thunderbird-spellcheck-dictionary-en-gb - Thunderbird UK spellcheck dictionary has been being installed but not working because Thunderbird wasn't noticing it. We installed MySpell dictionaries in %PROGRAMFILES%\Mozilla Thunderbird\components\myspell\ which was correct for Thunderbird 1.5 but Thunderbird 2.0 expects them in %PROGRAMFILES%\Mozilla Thunderbird\dictionaries. This was broken in RCS 3.1 and RCS 3.2.
- 30/7/8 - filezilla - revision 7 - 3.0.11.1 → 3.1.0.1
- 30/7/8 - thunderbird - revision 10 - 2.0.0.14 → 2.0.0.16
- 30/7/8 - klite - revision3: renamed all 'klite' to 'k-lite'; renamed package from 'klite' to 'k-lite-codec-pack' - also profiles.xml 0.9.1; upgraded 4.0 to 4.1
- 30/7/8 - aspell and aspell-dictionaries-english removed
- 30/7/8 - aspell-dictionaries-english removed
- 30/7/8 - aspell removed from profiles.xml. aspell-dictionaries-english wasn't there!
- eraser - revision 6 - changed string from F850707C-B6A0-4B56-8709-F89CF8F9AC6D to A25FEDC1-F6D7-440C-BCE2-B71F595F6646
- Ghostscript uninstaller fails because packages.xml refers to gs8.54 rather than gs8.61
- Picasa uninstaller fails because program files directory uses 'picasa' rather than 'picasa2'
- flash player - revision 4 - changed WPKG 'check' - "On Windows, this file is named NPSWF32.dll. For player versions 9.0.45.0 and later, this file is stored in the system directory, along with the ActiveX control. For example: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll For player versions earlier than 9.0.45.0, the player plugin is stored in the plugins subdirectory of the browser installation directory. For example: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\NPSWF32.dll". Thus we're re-installing Flash Player on each bootup in RCS 3.2.
- Flash Player uninstaller - remove - not working - changed '%SOFTWARE%\flash-player-uninstaller\uninstall_flash_player.exe /silent' to '%WINDIR%System32\Macromed\Flash\uninstall_plugin.exe /silent'
- scribus - revision 6 - removal - removed GDI+
- f-prot - removed 'reboot=true' so it wouldn't cause a continual reboot
- f-prot - revision 7 - added error allowed 1619 - error in web boot strapper - Microsft Internet Explorer
- 21/7/8 - myodbc - revision 3 - updated 3.51.12 → 3.51.26
- 21/7/8 - f-prot - revision 5 - changed reboot=true to reboot=false. F-Prot's priority=0 forced F-Prot to be processed last on installation, then the system was rebooted. Upon removal F-Prot doesn't seem to be being processed last so WPKG is prematurely restarting the workstation. This would be fine if it waited for F-Prot to be removed before restarting but the F-Prot UI is still on screen when the workstation is restarted.
