Description
The GTK+ Runtime Environment is used by other GTK-based programs that require it to run. Some programs include their own copy of GTK+, so don't rely on a separately installed copy. other programs rely on a separately installed copy of GTK+.
Software that relies on GTK+ being installed will require a specific minimum version of GTK+. If you want a single copy of GTK+ installed you have to be careful that all programs using it are happy with that particular version (you may be able to install multiple and different versions, I don't know).
